The aim of the Orleans Teen Ski Club is to provide an enjoyable atmosphere for its members and guests. In attempting to meet this objective, the Board of Directors has developed the following Rules and Regulations. These were developed over the past number of ski seasons, not only to protect the individual member’s interests, but also the Club and the volunteers. The information provided will assist members in the smooth and enjoyable day to day operation of the club. Your participation and co-operation will be greatly appreciated. Membership in the Club is a privilege and membership is subject to the approval of the Board of Directors.
REGISTRATION AND MEMBERSHIP
REGISTRATION IS OPEN TO THOSE TEENAGERS BETWEEN THE AGES OF 13 and 17 INCLUSIVE.
- Membership fees may be paid by cheque or cash.
- Refunds will not be granted after the first trip unless the request is accompanied by a medical certificate. AII refunds will be pro-rated and an administrative fee will be applied.
- No refunds will be given for missed trips.
- All members must be in possession of their Orleans Teen Ski Club identification card at all times for club activities.
- Members who do NOT have their cards at the bus will be charged the “Guest Rate” for that trip.
- Members who have lost their card will be charged an administrative fee of $5.00 for a new card.
- Ski club membership is not transferable.
GUESTS
- Members who bring guests are responsible for the conduct of their guests and all club rules apply to them.
- Guests will be charged a fee for all local trips and for away trips. Cost for away trips will be advertised in advance. Payment must be in cash.
- Guests may not pre-register unless asked to do so.
- Seating capacity may restrict the number of guests that can be taken. Unfortunately these numbers are not known before hand.
- The club reserves the right to permit guests.
- Guests are subject to and must follow all “Club Rules and Regulations”.

Guests will be required to provide a Guest Waiver signed by their parent(s) and/or legal guardian(s).
GENERAL RULES
Helmets are mandatory!
- Ski and snowboard bags are compulsory for all types of skis and boards. Snowboard travel bags are not acceptable. Helmets should not be in your ski or board bag. Bags should be clearly marked for easy identification with each members name. The bags protect the skis when being loaded and off loaded as well as the volunteers handling them. Valuables should be stored in a secure locker at the ski hills, and ski/snowboards should always be locked.
- For Local Trips: Buses will commence loading at 2.30 pm and are scheduled to depart at 3.00 pm from the Ray Friel Centre Parking Lot.
- Buses will start loading at 9.00 pm at the ski hill and will depart at 9.30 pm.
- Parents should be at Ray Friel by 10 pm to pick up skiers.
- Departure times and arrival times for the Away trips will be announced well in advance of each trip. Members receive priority boarding followed by guests (space permitting). A member who is late for boarding will forfeit his/her spot and may only board based on space availability.
- Smoking and the consumption of alcoholic beverages on the buses is NOT permitted.
- Use of profane language on the buses WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
- Normal group conduct is expected and should not be intrusive to others.
- Portable music players and similar equipment will be permitted on the buses but MUST NOT be used in a manner that will be bothersome to others.
- Unacceptable conduct at an Orleans Teen Ski Club event will result in disciplinary action being taken. This can be a simple verbal warning up to and including the suspension of the member for the remainder of the ski season.
- The Board of Directors will review each case and will advise the member and his or her parent of its decision. In the case of a suspension, refunds will NOT be given.
- While a suspension is in-effect, the member may NOT participate in Club activities.
- At NO TIME are members or their guests permitted in the bar areas where alcoholic beverages are sold.
- Members and their guests must return on the same bus as the one traveled to the hill on.
- Members and their guests may NOT leave the ski hill unless prior written permission is provided to the Bus Captain.
- Members and guests must obey all ski resort rules and regulations and act appropriately while on the ski hill and in and around the chalet.
- AII garbage will be put in the garbage receptacles both on the buses and in the chalet.
- Vandalism and the infraction of the rules WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
- The use of drugs or alcohol will automatically result in the suspension of membership for the remainder of the season and this without refund.
- A member who has been suspended for an entire season will not be considered for subsequent membership.
